Useful Useless Information

So I came across this site and started reading all these cool useless facts and I couldn't stop. I figured I would share some of my favorites...

*One-fourth of the world's population lives on less than $200 a year.

*Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is the fear of long words.

*If one places a tiny amount of liquor on a scorpion, it will instantly go mad and sting itself to death. (Why didn't I know this when I was in Middle School!)

*In the United States, a pound of potato chips cost two hundred times more than a pound of potatoes.

*Ohio is listed as the 17th state in the U.S., but technically it is number 47. Until August 7, 1953, congress forgot to vote on a resolution to admit Ohio to the Union.

*Los Angeles' full name is "El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciuncula" and can be abbreviated to 3.63% of its size, "L.A." (Works for me!)

*Grapes explode when you put them in the microwave. (Gotta try that one)

*When the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers play football at home, the stadium becomes the state's third largest city. (And when they come to the Orange Bowl they make Miami the #1 city in Dade county with the most Americans :D )

*In England, the Speaker of the House is not allowed to speak. (Makes sense to me...)

*A donkey will sink in quicksand but a mule won't. (Next time you have an option and are planning to go anywhere with quicksand remember to ask for the mule)

*(For all you song writers out there...) No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, or purple.

After using this Blog for Youth Camp updates and taking some family vacation time, I'm back in the saddle again.
